The Yorkshire and Humber NHS Genomic Medicine Centre has been working in collaboration with Eureka! The National Children’s Museum to raise awareness of the science of genomics to young people and children.
Through a series of interactive, hands-on activities, young people and children were able to find out more about DNA and genomics and how variation makes us different and similar to everyone one else.
Around 2,700 visitors took part in the activities, which were run over the summer at Eureka!, with 75% of children taking part agreeing that they wanted to find out more about DNA and genomics as direct result of the specially designed activities.
