The Yorkshire and Humber NHS Genomic Medical Centre works together with other NHS organisations around the region to recruit patients into the project and play its part in creating a new genomic medicine service for the NHS.

The Yorkshire and Humber NHS Genomic Medical Centre is a joint collaboration between Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust and Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, supported by Local Delivery Partners.

THE LEEDS TEACHING HOSPITALS NHS TRUST

With an annual budget of £1.1 billion and seven hospitals seeing over 1.5 million patients annually, the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is one of the largest acute providers in the UK.  It offers a wide range of specialist services for the Leeds City region and beyond and was recently named hand transplant lead centre for England after pioneering this procedure in the UK.

SHEFFIELD TEACHING HOSPITALS NHS FOUNDATION TRUST

Recognised internationally for its work in neurosciences, spinal injuries, renal, cancer, transplantation, neurosciences and orthopaedics, the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has over 16,000 staff caring for over 2.5 million patients each year in the Sheffield city region and wider South Yorkshire area.  As well as offering a range of hospital and community services for people in Sheffield, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a recognised leader in medical research for bone, cardiac, neurosciences and long-term conditions such as diabetes and lung disease.

SHEFFIELD CHILDREN’S NHS FOUNDATION TRUST

As one of only four dedicated children’s hospital trusts in the UK, Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust provides integrated healthcare for children and young people, including community and mental health care as well as acute and specialist services for the Sheffield city region and the wider area.  It also offers a full range of specialised services both locally and nationally.
